What has kept you passionate about machine vision over the years?
Rapid innovation and the wide range of applications keep me passionate. The technology has evolved tremendously and continues to move fast, making it exciting to see its progress and future potential. What energizes me most is constant learning and applying it across fields like medical, agriculture, transport, sustainability, and sports, where it makes a real impact.

What has experience taught you that no training could?

Preparation, self-belief, and confidence. If you’ve put in the time to learn, trust yourself and don’t doubt. Stick to what you know, be honest when you don’t, show respect, and treat others as you’d like to be treated. Always stay positive.

What makes collaboration work well for you?

Trust, empathy, and understanding. Being able to rely on others and see their perspective helps achieve collaboration goals faster and more effectively.

What advice would you give to someone starting in machine vision today?
Ask questions and keep learning. Understand why people need machine vision and how it helps. Speak to experienced professionals, focus on the basics, and the rest will follow.

I love working in this high-end technological field because it evolves rapidly, offering continuous opportunities to learn and grow. I enjoy supporting vision engineers in finding effective solutions, and it’s especially rewarding to see a system develop from concept to a fully working solution.

What has experience taught you that no training could?
Never take anything for granted in a customer’s situation or negotiation. Always ask thoughtful questions and gain clarity before forming conclusions.
