When selecting the right camera housing, it is important to look at a few critical factors:
- Environment: Will the camera face dust, rain, splashes or high humidity
- Camera size: our standard enclosure supports 29x29mm cameras; the XL model fits up to 44x44mm cameras.
- Lens dimensions: the standard housing fits lenses up to 40mm diameter; the XL accommodates lenses up to 74mm.
- Temperature Conditions: Extra cooling measures are recommended if ambient temperatures
exceed 35°C. - Cable management: Our housings allow standard USB3, GigE, and I/O cables with waterproof termination, no expensive IP67 cables are required.

Choosing the right size camera housing
At VA Imaging, we offer two enclosure sizes to ensure the perfect fit for your machine vision setup:
- Regular housing, designed for cameras up to 29x29 mm and lenses up to 40mm in diameter. If your lens is over 30mm in diameter and has large screws, you may need a flat screw set (available separately) for a secure and proper fit inside the regular housing.
- XL housing, ideal for larger setups, accommodating cameras up to 44x44mm and lenses up to 74mm in diameter. The XL model is recommended for high-resolution cameras and large format lenses that require extra internal space.
Choosing the right housing size ensures optimal protection, reliable installation, and maximum performance of your camera and lens combination. If you are unsure which size is right for your application, our team is happy to assist you in selecting the best option.
Cooling and heat management for camera enclosures.
In industrial and outdoor environments, managing temperature is critical to ensure optimal camera performance and longevity. Our camera enclosures naturally help dissipate heat thanks to their aluminium construction, but for certain conditions, extra cooling measures are advised.
- Cold compressor air: you can pass cols compressed air past the housing to lower its operating temperature. Thanks to the waterproof IP67 design, condensation will not harm the internal components
- Peltier cooling elements: If compressor air is not available, Peltier elements can be attached externally to actively cool the enclosure. These are widely available online.
When using enclosures in high-heat environments (above 35°C ambient temperature), we strongly recommend mounting the enclosure to a metal frame or metal profile to enhance passive cooling through conduction.

GeT Cameras in Germany made some photo's of our products to show the performance of their cameras and they looked perfect. Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. We are not experienced with machine vision but the installation worked out fine. After installation on our laboratory we were surprised again of the high quality of the photos and the versatility of this system. (options in Galaxy viewer and integration in Python. Recently we had an issue with the software and the customer support was able to give us the relevant information to fix it within one day. The next time we need a camera we will not be looking to other suppliers but contact GeT Cameras immediately.

For a new product development there was a lot of price pressure. We needed a cheap camera. I called them and Caspar was providing great support. He even advised a cheaper camera than I had in mind. I was just surprised by the inhouse knowledge of get cameras about machine vision. Never expected this from a webshop. The image an built quality of the camera is also great. The camera feels and operates the same as our Basler cameras.

They ... I ordered a 20MP USB3 camera including a lens 2 months ago for a datamatrix code reading application. In the beginning I was sceptic because of the low prices, but support by email was great. They advise a lens and provided additional technical information. Unfortunately they don't offer a loan service, but I decided to try it. I had the cameras in house within 2 weeks and connection was easy. The SDK looks like the SDK from Basler so I felt directly comfortable with it. The camera and lens was a perfect match and now I'm able to read small DMC codes on large products with just a single camera.
