The VA-LM12-16MP 1/2.3" HIGH DISTORTION series are high resolution (16MegaPixel) lenses designed for board level cameras or c-mount cameras in combination with our C-mount to m12 adapter. These lenses are suitable for image sensors up to 1/2.3", to create sharp images. The support for large image sensors (up to 1/2.3") makes this lens series ideal for high quality imaging in for example medical and life science devices. The serie has multiple focal lengths (12 up to 50mm) to assure the right working distance can be met for each application. The lens has a fixed iris and the focus is adjustable by turning the lens.
This lens works only with MER1 and Venus series. It does not work with the MER2 series, unless you remove the protective filter glass of the camera. This is possible however warranty will be lost.
Product Life Cycle Management
This specific M12 lens does not comply to our standard product life cycle managed portfolio. This M12 lens is used in security applications and is produced in high volumes. However it can happen that the manufacturer suddenly decides to stop production or will have a new version of the lens that has slightly different specifications. We are not informed upfront when this happens and therefore, we can’t manage the life cycle of this product. Because this lens is used in high volume security applications, the pricing of the lens is very attractive. When you design this lens into your product, we recommend that you buy enough stock for the upcoming years, so that the lack of product life cycle management for this product is not an issue for you.
For your information, we do have M12 lenses that do comply to our product life cycle managed portfolio, but these lenses are more expensive.
