INTERN STORY – ELIANNE

WHICH 3 WORDS DESCRIBE YOU THE BEST?

Elianne describes herself as dedicated, a quick learner, and communicative. She values the importance of strong communication and is always eager to take a few challenges, learning and growing along the way.

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST RECENT WORK/ STUDY EXPERIENCE (BEFORE VA IMAGING)?

Before joining VA Imaging, Elianne was pursuing a degree in International Business. Her previous experiences include internships at Certificerings Advies Nederlands and Vanderlande industries, where she worked as a Management Assistant. These roles helped her develop vital skills, such as communication, responsibility, and the ability to stay focused on achieving her goals. VA Imaging marks her first internship within the International Business field, and it’s been a pivotal step in her professional journey.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO DO AN INTERNSHIP AT VA IMAGING?

Elianne chose VA Imaging because she was looking for an internship that offered both creativity and independence. She was drawn to the company’s diverse, multicultural environment and global presence. “A fellow student told me about VA Imaging’s welcoming atmosphere and positive work culture, which make it an easy choice,” she says. The opportunity to work with such a diverse team really resonated with her.

DID THIS MATCH THE FIRST IMPRESSION OF BOTH YOUR ‘JOB’ & THE TEAM AT VA IMAGING?

Yes, the internship has definitely met Elianne’s expectations. “The diverse backgrounds of my colleagues have been truly fascinating,” she shares. “Everyone is so welcoming, and there is a strong openness to hearing perspectives from a student’s point of view. The passion and drive within the team are inspiring, and it’s been a great environment to learn and grow.”

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO DO AN INTERNHSIP AT VA IMAGING? WHAT ARE YOUR TASKS?

Elianne’s internship officially falls under the Operations department, though she contributes to various other areas, including HR, Marketing and Sales. She appreciates the broad scope of her tasks, as it allows her to develop professionally in multiple areas. “Each day is different,” Elianne says. “I handle responsibilities like processing express stock, fulfilling orders, recruiting for open positions, translating articles, and analyzing sales goals. One of my major projects has been researching the performance of the USA market, which has been a great learning experience.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF (WHAT HAVE YOU ALREADY ACHIEVED AT VA IMAGING)?

Elianne is most proud of the progress she’s made in learning about industrial cameras and machine vision technology. “When I first started, I didn’t know anything about industrial cameras,” she explains. “Now, I can recognize products and understand how machine vision can benefit various
industries. It’s been rewarding to see how much I’ve learned.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR YOU?

Elianne’s future is full of exciting possibilities. As a third-year student, she still has one more year to complete her degree. “I want to keep developing myself, exploring new roles, and gaining experience in different markets,” she shares. “After I graduate, I hope to embark on a career in International Business, applying what I’ve learned and continuing to grow professionally in a dynamic, global environment.
