The 8MP 25MM UV lens is part of the 8MP 2/3” UV lens series. This VA-LCM-8MP-25MM-2.0-015-UV lens has a 25MM focal length and F-number of 2.0. Our UV C-mount lens series supports the wavelength range from 240nm – 1000nm and is designed for sensors with a pixel size of 2.74µm and more.
UV C-MOUNT LENSES
UV lenses are made specifically to meet the requirements of a UV machine vision cameras. UV light has a shorter wavelength than visible light, making it more sensitive to surface irregularities. The UV wavelength in light spectrum ranges from 10 to 400 nm, making it shorter than visible light in the range of 400–780 nm. Our UV lenses are sensitive in the 240 to 1000 nm wavelength, which is the most suitable UV wavelength for industrial inspections. This 8MP 2/3” UV lens series is specifically designed for Sony’s IMX487 image sensor and more. These sensors are designed to capture light on the UV range, from 200 to 400nm.
The 8MP 25MM UV C-mount lens in combination with a UV camera is useful in a variety of applications:

8MP 25MM UV LENS
Both the iris and focus of this 8MP 25MM UV lens can be adjusted, screws can be used to fasten them. Additionally, the VA-LCM-8MP-25MM-2.0-015-UV UV lens features a C-mount for easy mounting on your machine vision camera. Our C-mount UV lenses are designed to meet the durability and reliability requirements of industrial environments. They are built to withstand challenging industrial conditions. The 8MP 25MM UV lens is built completely from glass and metal elements.
UV LENS FOR SONY IMX SENSORS
The 8MP 2/3” UV lens series is compatible with a variety of industrial cameras because of the standardized C-mount thread. This 8MP 25MM UV lens is often used in combination with the following camera sensors:
- Sony IMX487: This 2/3” CMOS image sensor delivers a high level of UV sensitivity and high-quality imagine. Due to the specialised components for UV wavelength, it provides a high quality imagine with minimal noise.
RESOLVING POWER OF THE 2/3” UV LENS SERIES
The 8MP 2/3” UV lens series is recommended for industrial cameras with UV sensors such as the previously mentioned Sony sensors to create sharp images within the UV field. The recommended cameras pixel size for this series is 2.74µm. It has a resolving power of 180 line pairs per mm (lp/mm). The resolving power is a measure of how many pairs of black and white lines can be distinguished per millimeter of image space. A higher number of line pairs per mm indicates a higher spatial resolution, meaning that the camera or lens system can resolve finer details in the image. UV LENS PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT
The UV lens series is sold in large numbers and will be produced for a long time. Almost every lens model that has been added to our portfolio since our start, still remains in stock. Additionally, if the VA-LCM-8MP-25MM-2.0-015-UV lens approaches its End of Life (EOL), we are committed to keeping you informed. All our customers will receive a final notification for their last-time buy. We also assure that after EOL a new production run can always be initiated with a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of 300 pieces of the 8MP 25MM UV lens.
QUALITY CONTROL & WARRANTY OF UV LENSES
The lens production quality control process is built on several methodical steps. The process for UV lenses such as the 8MP 25MM UV lens, starts with a quality check of incoming raw materials and production line preparation such as check of workers PPE (Personal protective equipment) and cleaning of equipment. During production, each step follows a strict process controlled by visual or tool aided inspections. Each product finishes production with a final inspection, confirming that optical and mechanical requirements are met. In addition, sample control inspections are performed before shipping.
This process generates comprehensive reports, covering all aspects of production. If the 8MP 25MM UV lens doesn’t comply with the given quality standards at any time, it will be classified as abnormal. Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. We are not experienced with machine vision but the installation worked out fine. After installation on our laboratory we were surprised again of the high quality of the photos and the versatility of this system. (options in Galaxy viewer and integration in Python. Recently we had an issue with the software and the customer support was able to give us the relevant information to fix it within one day. The next time we need a camera we will not be looking to other suppliers but contact GeT Cameras immediately.

For a new product development there was a lot of price pressure. We needed a cheap camera. I called them and Caspar was providing great support. He even advised a cheaper camera than I had in mind. I was just surprised by the inhouse knowledge of get cameras about machine vision. Never expected this from a webshop. The image an built quality of the camera is also great. The camera feels and operates the same as our Basler cameras.

In the beginning I was sceptic because of the low prices, but support by email was great. They advise a lens and provided additional technical information. Unfortunately they don't offer a loan service, but I decided to try it. I had the cameras in house within 2 weeks and connection was easy. The SDK looks like the SDK from Basler so I felt directly comfortable with it. The camera and lens was a perfect match and now I'm able to read small DMC codes on large products with just a single camera.
