Meet Joep, an enthusiastic and determined intern at VA Imaging. With a passion for learning and connecting with others, Joep is currently working on his thesis while gaining hands-on experience in the Benelux sales department. He shares his internship journey with us, reflecting on his experiences, achievements, and aspirations for the future.
WHICH 3 WORDS DESCRIBE YOU THE BEST?
Joep describes himself as eager, sociable and determined. He enjoys connecting with others, always striving to be social, and is committed to finishing everything he starts, making him quite determined.
WHAT WAS YOUR MOST RECENT WORK/ STUDY EXPERIENCE (BEFORE VA IMAGING)?
Before joining VA Imaging, Joep had the incredible opportunity to study in Sweden for half a year. He reflects, “It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and I learned a lot from it, both academically and personally.” In addition, Joep completed his first internship last year, where he worked in the marketing department of an online lighting retailer.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO DO AN INTERNSHIP AT VA IMAGING
Joep chose VA Imaging for several reasons. He was immediately drawn to the company’s work in machine vision solutions, saying, “The technology and innovation really piqued my interest.” He also had a strong sense that the working environment at VA Imaging would be great fit for him. “I enjoy being part of a dynamic team, where people come from diverse backgrounds, creating opportunities to learn new things every day.” After first encountering VA Imaging, Joep felt it would be the right place for him – and his internship experience has confirmed that.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO DO AN INTERNSHIP AT VA IMAGING? WHAT ARE YOUR TASKS?
For Joep, interning at VA Imaging has given him a realistic view of what it’s like to work in the field. He says, “One thing that stands out is how everyone treats you as an equal, not just an intern. This approach has allowed me to take on real responsibilities and gain hands-on experience.” Every day brings new challenges, questions, and opportunities, keeping things dynamic. Joep also focuses on his thesis, researching the Italian market and providing strategic advice to the company. Additionally, he works in the Benelux sales department, handling various sales related tasks.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF (WHAT HAVE YOU ALREADY ACHIEVED AT VA IMAGING)?
Although Joep hasn’t been at VA Imaging for long, he is proud of how well he has integrated into the company’s work culture. “From day one, everyone has been welcoming and supportive, which contributes to the great work atmosphere.” He is also proud of the progress he has made with his thesis, adding, “It’s rewarding to see that all my hard work is contributing to the company.”
WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR YOU?
Joep’s primary goal in the near future is to graduate successfully and make his internship at VA Imaging a success. “After that, I’m planning to take some time to travel before diving into the job market.” Joep is also open to the possibility of returning to VA Imaging for a post-graduation role, saying “Who knows? Maybe I’ll even return to VA Imaging for a post-graduation role!”
