The Bandpass Lens Filter 405 nm is engineered to transmit a tightly defined spectral band centered at 405 nm, with a useful range from 380 nm to 430 nm, while effectively blocking all other wavelengths.
It threads directly onto machine vision lens using standard filter mounts and is available in a wide selection of thread sizes to ensure optimal compatibility with both compact and large-format lenses.
How the BP405 Narrow Bandpass Filter Works
Narrow bandpass filters isolate a specific region of the spectrum while blocking unwanted wavelengths on both sides of the band.
For the BP405, transmission peaks near 405 nm, with high in-band transmission, and the useful range between 380–430 nm maintains strong throughput while keeping out-of-band light suppressed.
By filtering illumination so precisely around 405 nm, the BP405 ensures that only the desired spectral band reaches the sensor—ideal for applications that require spectral purity and stable, repeatable imaging.

BP405 Bandpass Filter Overview and Applications
The BP405 lens filter selectively passes violet/near-UV light centered at 405 nm, enabling exceptional contrast and reducing interference from ambient or broadband light sources.
Using a bandpass filter is a form of spectral subtraction: only the target wavelength range passes, while surrounding wavelengths are significantly attenuated.
When used with a white-light source, 405 nm LEDs, or a 405 nm laser module, the BP405 amplifies the visibility of features that reflect or fluoresce under this wavelength while suppressing the rest of the spectrum.
This makes it highly valuable in precision inspection environments where the goal is to highlight specific materials, coatings, fluorescing agents, or surface characteristics.

Compatibility with Lenses and Cameras
The BP405 filter is designed to mount directly on most machine-vision lenses equipped with standard front filter threads.
If you are using a C-mount lens on a GigE camera or USB3 camera, the filter can also be placed inside the C-mount connection instead of on the front of the lens.
Placed between the camera and lens, the filter remains fixed in the optical path, ensuring perfect alignment and consistent imaging performance without modifying the optics.
This flexibility makes the BP405 simple to integrate into new or existing setups.

GeT Cameras in Germany made some photo's of our products to show the performance of their cameras and they looked perfect. Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. We are not experienced with machine vision but the installation worked out fine. After installation on our laboratory we were surprised again of the high quality of the photos and the versatility of this system. (options in Galaxy viewer and integration in Python. Recently we had an issue with the software and the customer support was able to give us the relevant information to fix it within one day. The next time we need a camera we will not be looking to other suppliers but contact GeT Cameras immediately.

For a new product development there was a lot of price pressure. We needed a cheap camera. I called them and Caspar was providing great support. He even advised a cheaper camera than I had in mind. I was just surprised by the inhouse knowledge of get cameras about machine vision. Never expected this from a webshop. The image an built quality of the camera is also great. The camera feels and operates the same as our Basler cameras.

They ... I ordered a 20MP USB3 camera including a lens 2 months ago for a datamatrix code reading application. In the beginning I was sceptic because of the low prices, but support by email was great. They advise a lens and provided additional technical information. Unfortunately they don't offer a loan service, but I decided to try it. I had the cameras in house within 2 weeks and connection was easy. The SDK looks like the SDK from Basler so I felt directly comfortable with it. The camera and lens was a perfect match and now I'm able to read small DMC codes on large products with just a single camera.
