The MER3-321-176X2M-SWIR F02 is a high-performance 3-megapixel CoaXPress SWIR industrial camera designed for advanced machine vision applications. This camera offers high image quality and high-speed data transmission, making it suitable for demanding industrial inspection, scientific research, and medical imaging tasks.
By using a CoaXPress 2.0 interface, the camera delivers high-resolution images at high frame rates with a stable and fast connection between the camera and the frame grabber. The camera is quipped with the Sony IMX993 global shutter SWIR image sensor, enabling image acquisition in both the visible and SWIR spectrum. To make full use of the sensor, the camera is equipped with a C-mount lens interface.
The CoaXPress SWIR camera is interesting for your application when the following conditions apply:

Monochrome SWIR Industrial CoaXPress Camera
A monochrome SWIR camera is also referred to as a Visible-SWIR camera and offers advantages in a wide range of industrial vision applications Visible light typically ranges from 400nm to 790nm, while infrared light starts above 780nm. The portion of infrared light closest to the visible spectrum is known as Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR).
The Sony IMX993 SWIR image sensor used in the MER3-321-176X2M-SWIR F02 is designed to capture light from the visible spectrum through SWIR wavelengths, allowing the camera to acquire image data over a broad spectral range. This makes it possible for the camera to replace a traditional visible camera + SWIR camera dual-camera setup, reducing system cost, simplifying integration, improving processing speed, and potentially expanding the detectable feature range.
Applications for Monochrome CXP SWIR Cameras
Monochrome SWIR CXP cameras are used in a variety of industrial and scientific applications, including
- Semiconductor Inspection, where SWIR imaging reveals defects not visible in the visible spectrum
- Inspection in moist or wet conditions, as water becomes opaque around 1450nm due to absorption
- Material differentiation, where materials such as plastics, metals, or composites appear similarly in visible light but show clear contrast differences in SWIR spectrum
- Wafer inspection, AOI inspection, spot inspection, and medical inspection
MTBF, Warranty & Product Life Cycle
Daheng Imaging produces more than 100.000 industrial cameras according to the highest quality standard. The cameras have a mean time between failure (MTBF) exceeding 400.000 hours (45 years, 24/7).

GeT Cameras in Germany made some photo's of our products to show the performance of their cameras and they looked perfect. Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. We are not experienced with machine vision but the installation worked out fine. After installation on our laboratory we were surprised again of the high quality of the photos and the versatility of this system. (options in Galaxy viewer and integration in Python. Recently we had an issue with the software and the customer support was able to give us the relevant information to fix it within one day. The next time we need a camera we will not be looking to other suppliers but contact GeT Cameras immediately.

For a new product development there was a lot of price pressure. We needed a cheap camera. I called them and Caspar was providing great support. He even advised a cheaper camera than I had in mind. I was just surprised by the inhouse knowledge of get cameras about machine vision. Never expected this from a webshop. The image an built quality of the camera is also great. The camera feels and operates the same as our Basler cameras.

They ... I ordered a 20MP USB3 camera including a lens 2 months ago for a datamatrix code reading application. In the beginning I was sceptic because of the low prices, but support by email was great. They advise a lens and provided additional technical information. Unfortunately they don't offer a loan service, but I decided to try it. I had the cameras in house within 2 weeks and connection was easy. The SDK looks like the SDK from Basler so I felt directly comfortable with it. The camera and lens was a perfect match and now I'm able to read small DMC codes on large products with just a single camera.
