Working at VA Imaging
At VA Imaging, we work with the latest industrial camera technology that is both affordable and innovative. Our goal? Happy customers and long-term relationships! Industrial cameras are more than just a product. They are the eyes of a machine. They are used in a wide range of applications, ensuring that no two workdays are ever the same.
You’ll work fulltime on-site at our brand-new HQ in Eindhoven (Strijp-S) and stay connected with our teams in Germany, Italy and the US. With colleagues from 15 nationalities, we’re truly international – and we love it that way!
Assignment 1: CRO and Customer Journey in B2B Decision Making (Marketing)
VA Imaging is looking for a 3rd or 4th year student who wants to explore how customer journey insights can be used to improve website conversion in a B2B technology environment. In this assignment, you will research how customer needs, doubts and information requirements change throughout the decision-making process and how this affects the effectiveness of website pages. You may analyse selected pages, review competitor examples, and identify where visitors may hesitate or drop off before taking action. The final outcome should be a thesis, a customer journey-based CRO framework, and practical recommendations for improving conversion on selected pages of the VA Imaging website.
Assignment 2: Machine Vision Market in the US (Sales)
The U.S. machine vision market is large, dynamic and highly fragmented. It includes a wide range of players such as manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, system integrators, OEMs, software providers and resellers. For VA Imaging, it is important to understand how this market is structured, what the size and volume of the market are, and which parties play a relevant role in the value chain. At this stage, VA Imaging is looking for a clear market overview that supports future sales and commercial decisions. The company wants to know how the market is organized, how many relevant players are active, what their roles are, and where the best commercial opportunities can be found.
Assignment 3: Recruitment of International Talent (HR)
VA Imaging is growing from 40 to 100 employees and is looking for a 3rd or 4th year student to research how the company can most effectively attract and recruit talent for its international offices in Germany, Italy, France and the United States. The student will investigate which recruitment methods work best in the specific country, what is important to international candidates, how they should best be approached and which employment conditions and benefits play a key role in attracting them. Special attention needs be given to a niche recruitment challenge: hiring Business Development Managers who already have a commercial network within the machine vision industry. This requires a targeted and professional recruitment approach aimed at a very limited group of candidates, many of whom are currently employed by competitors. The final result should be a practical advisory report with concrete recommendations for improving VA Imaging’s international recruitment strategy.
Assignment 4: Finance in preparation for audit requirements (Finance)
VA Imaging is a fast-growing company in the machine vision industry and is preparing for its next stage of professionalization. We expect to become subject to statutory audit requirements in the near future. To prepare for this next phase, the company is looking for a 3rd or 4th year student who can analyse, map and improve its finance processes. We are looking for someone who is eager to dive into our finance organization, map and analyse key finance processes, identify risks and opportunities and help us create a stronger and more structured financial foundation. You will investigate how current processes are organized, where improvements are needed and how VA Imaging can better prepare for audit readiness, transparency and continued growth.
This assignment is ideal for a student who enjoys combining analysis, process optimization and practical business advice in a dynamic international company. The final outcome should be a clear and actionable advisory report that helps VA Imaging strengthen its finance function and prepare for the future.
Assignment 5: EVALUATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF ORDER PROCESSING (OPERATIONS)
The Operations department at VA Imaging receives orders from a wide range of customers on a regular basis. These orders are received digitally, are processed by internal systems, are prepared in the warehouse and are then shipped to the customers. However, the whole process of creating and shipping an order has never been properly evaluated. Moreover, to ensure that the operational processes remain efficient, we need an intern to analyze the complete workflow of order processing and provide us with possible points of improvement. Therefore, the goal of this assignment is to gain a proper understanding of the current order “roadmap” and identify possible points of improvement that would increase efficiency, reduce processing time and minimize potential bottlenecks.
