The BP530 narrow bandpass lens filter is designed to pass light with a peak wavelength of 530 nm and a useful range between 500–560 nm, while blocking all other wavelengths.
It uses the standard filter thread to mount directly on a machine vision lens.
To ensure a secure fit and optimal performance in any machine vision setup, you can choose from multiple thread sizes to match your specific lens.
BP530 Narrow Bandpass Filter: How It Works
Narrow bandpass filters function by transmitting only a defined portion of the light spectrum while blocking all other wavelengths.
In the case of the BP530 filter, light at a peak wavelength of 530 nm passes through with transmission exceeding 90%, while within the useful range of 500–560 nm, transmission remains above 80%.

BP530 Narrow Bandpass Filter Overview and Applications
The BP530 bandpass filter is engineered to transmit light centered at 530 nm, effectively blocking all unwanted wavelengths outside its passband. This precise wavelength control improves image contrast, color accuracy, and measurement consistency across a broad range of optical systems.
When tuned to a specific wavelength such as 530 nm, the BP530 acts as a color filter for monochrome imaging, allowing only the target color (green) to pass while suppressing adjacent and complementary wavelengths. A color lens filter operates on a subtractive principle—for example, a green filter keeps green tones bright while darkening opposing colors.
In practical applications, combining a white-light or broad-spectrum illumination source with a BP530 filter isolates a narrow band centered around 530 nm. The result is greater contrast, clearer object differentiation, reduced stray reflections, and enhanced image stability. This makes the BP530 particularly effective for machine-vision inspections, where small variations in material, color, or surface texture must be detected reliably under variable lighting conditions.

Compatibility of BP530 with Lenses and Cameras
The BP530 filter can be mounted on the front of most machine vision lenses, as these lenses include a filter thread for attaching filters directly.
If you are using a C-mount lens on a GigE camera or USB3 camera, the filter can also be placed inside the C-mount connection instead of on the front of the lens.
This is useful when the lens does not have a front filter thread.
The filter is installed between the camera and lens and stays fixed in the optical path, keeping alignment stable and image quality consistent.
This makes the BP530 filter flexible for different setups and easy to integrate without changing your existing camera or lens.

Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. We are not experienced with machine vision but the installation worked out fine. After installation on our laboratory we were surprised again of the high quality of the photos and the versatility of this system. (options in Galaxy viewer and integration in Python. Recently we had an issue with the software and the customer support was able to give us the relevant information to fix it within one day. The next time we need a camera we will not be looking to other suppliers but contact GeT Cameras immediately.

For a new product development there was a lot of price pressure. We needed a cheap camera. I called them and Caspar was providing great support. He even advised a cheaper camera than I had in mind. I was just surprised by the inhouse knowledge of get cameras about machine vision. Never expected this from a webshop. The image an built quality of the camera is also great. The camera feels and operates the same as our Basler cameras.

In the beginning I was sceptic because of the low prices, but support by email was great. They advise a lens and provided additional technical information. Unfortunately they don't offer a loan service, but I decided to try it. I had the cameras in house within 2 weeks and connection was easy. The SDK looks like the SDK from Basler so I felt directly comfortable with it. The camera and lens was a perfect match and now I'm able to read small DMC codes on large products with just a single camera.
